Miami Christian School is a private Christian K through 12th preparatory school.
Miami Christian School is a private Christian K through 12th preparatory school with an emphasis on individual nurturing, quality academics, critical & analytical thinking skills, fine arts, practical arts, athletics, character development, community service, extracurricular activities and maintaining a small student/teacher ratio. Currently the oldest college preparatory school in Miami-Dade County, the school is accredited by Cognia (formerly SACS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). MCS is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
Miami Christian School has special curriculum features for students at each level. The elementary school offers small classes with an array of diverse electives. The middle school offers a laptop program, and Honors courses. The high school offers Regular College Preparatory Courses, Advanced Placement Courses, an Honors Track, a Scholars Track, an ESOL Program and a Resource Room. All students bring either a laptop or tablet; both middle and high school students utilize block scheduling.
Miami Christian School focuses on preparing its graduates for top institutions worldwide. The prestigious Scholars Diploma is awarded to graduates who have completed a rigorous course of study with exemplary performance with a high GPA and completing a minimum of 28 credit hours. MCS also offers an Academic Diploma for students who have completed a minimum of 26 credit hours based on the Florida State University system prerequisites. A Standard Diploma is awarded to students who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours.
Each year the members of the graduating class at MCS get accepted into various institutions, including a number of the most prestigious colleges and universities. A short list of these institutions include Boston College, Cornell University, Drexel University, New York University, Northeastern University, Notre Dame University, Penn State University, St. John’s University, Tulane University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, University of Glasgow and many more. A complete list can be provided upon request by interested families.
To attend Miami Christian School, students and parents must submit an application and supporting documents. International students will follow SEVIS procedures for application and entry. At the time of application submission, families agree to pay the nonrefundable application and testing fees per student. Upon enrollment, families are required to pay an annual registration fee based on grade level, as well as tuition costs for the student. Additional fees are required for specialized education such as ESOL and Resource Room. Tuition and school fees are nonrefundable.
Families may choose to pay full tuition in one payment at a discounted rate, or can opt to pay monthly using one of two monthly plans. Financial aid is need-based, and dependent on availability of funds. Families are encouraged to apply by March 1st for financial aid.
